1.0 Management Summary
In Malaysia, there is no standard way in how the various health care centers (clinics, polyclinics,
and hospitals) share their patient data.  Therefore, the aim of our final year project is to produce a
recommendation on how to standardize the representation of data and make it available all the
time throughout the nation and perhaps all over the globe.
Apart from that, we also wish to expand the coverage of the medical team to those outside the
health care facilities through the usage of wireless technology.  In short, we wish to design a
system which is geographically independent which is available anytime anywhere with disregard of
the hardware involved.
This final report focuses on how we propose our design pattern and later a proof of concept of our
design pattern through the use of personal digital assistant (PDA) a representation of the wireless
technology.  We use Microsoft .NET to design and implement our system.  We also make use of
the .NET Framework, .NET Compact Framework and .NET Mobile.  XML Web services are also
used.
The end product will be a prototype of the wireless part of the system with a web based support for
desktop/laptop users.  The figure below shows a conceptual view on how our ideal system should
look like.
